FIELD TRAINING OFFICERS ANNUAL MEETINGS

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Field Operations Directive is to provide additional support for Field Training Officers through the formation of annual Field Training Officer (F.T.O.) meetings.

POLICY AND PROCEDURES

To provide additional support for the Field Training Officers, every station shall conduct annual meetings with their Field Training Officers.

These meetings are designed to discuss the Field Training Program and encourage open discussion on topics such as:

  • Documentation and the Remedial Process
  • Trainee Development
  • Tactical Operations
  • Policy Update and Review
  • Legal Updates
  • Case Studies

Contemporary training procedures shall be reviewed and there will be a written Core Values Training Exercise. Normal scheduling will call for a minimum of one meeting per year. Each station shall invite the Advanced Training Bureau (A.O.T. Unit), as well as the Chief and Commanders of the respective regions to attend these F.T.O. meetings.
