The Department has long recognized that providing up-to-date training for employees assigned to specialized teams is of utmost importance.
Teams such as the Sheriff’s Response Team (SRT), Department Operations Center (DOC) Team, Incident Management Team (IMT), Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), and Mounted Enforcement Detail (MED) are staffed through collateral assignments and assigned personnel must receive training to maintain and enhance perishable, specialized skills.
Unit commanders shall allow their personnel to attend required trainingand shall release personnel to participate in special team activations.
Personnel activated as part of a special team deployment shall remain assigned to the team until all documentation and reports related to the activation are completed, to ensure timely and accurate submission prior to their return to their unit of assignment.
