The Training Bureau will be responsible for providing personnel for the majority of honor guard functions; however, the Operations Commander may use personnel from the Unit of assignment when such utilization would be more expedient, the Unit would like to participate in this function, or the family requests Unit participation. Additional services for consideration include honorary pallbearers, color guard, flag detail, rifle detail, bugler or “honorary” representatives of the Department. The Unit Commander with the assistance of the Disability Management and Compliance Unit, will make the final determination on the level of services requested and provided.
