NON-DETAINED JUVENILE CITATIONS
Due to budget cuts and the closure of some courts, the Los Angeles Superior Court and the Los Angeles County Probation Department (Probation) have revised the procedures for processing non-detained juvenile citations. This process will take effect on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
Detained juvenile procedures will remain the same, and our Department shall continue to follow current procedures.
Law enforcement shall have seven days to submit the arrest information to the Probation Department following the issuance of a citation to a non-detained minor and guardian. All non-detained juvenile citations shall be sent to the appropriate Probation Office. There will be nine Probation locations that will accept non-detained juvenile citations.
