6-28810.00 Property in Custody of Levying Officer



Unless otherwise ordered by the court, property that has been taken into custody shall be released to the person from whom it was taken.  If the person does not claim the property, the officer shall retain it and serve the person, either personally or by mail, a notice of where possession of the property can be obtained.  If the property is not claimed within 30 days after service of the notice, the officer shall sell it in the manner provided for sale under execution and, after deducting the levying officer’s costs, deposit the proceeds with the treasurer of the county where the property is located, payable to the order of the person.
