If on-duty and serious injury requiring hospital treatment results, notify Homicide Bureau immediately and follow their direction.  If off-duty or no serious injury, notify Major Crimes Bureau immediately and follow their direction (see section 4-01/090.40).  All others assign to Station/Unit Detectives.
