A

Type of investigation to request:

Immediate:  When suspect/subject is present, arrested or detained, when incendiary evidence may be destroyed or contaminated if investigation is delayed or when there is a loss of life or injuries are critical.

Notify Arson/Explosives Detail immediately by telephone.

Routine:  When suspicious circumstances are involved or when noncritical injury is involved.

Notify Arson/Explosives Detail as soon as possible by telephone.

Preserve the fire scene for cause and origin determination.  If the scene cannot be preserved, request an immediate investigation.

Assign all cases to Arson/Explosives Detail except as noted below.

Assign to Homicide Bureau and Arson/ Explosives Detail if dead body involved.

Code according to type of structure or property.
