Form CHP-180 is the Incident Report.  Attach copies of any JDIC message to the report.

Assign abandoned heavy duty commercial and heavy duty construction vehicles (backhoes, skiploaders, etc), motor homes and campers to station/Unit detectives, along with all other abandoned vehicles.

SRD to TRAP.

Code 447 - Miscellaneous - Noncriminal, abandoned vehicle.

A

CHP-180 is used to store the vehicle.  If the vehicle is identifiable, i.e., has its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and CLETS/DMV query indicates "No Record on File," Station/Unit detectives/traffic investigators may authorize the immediate disposal of the vehicle as junk, utilizing DMV form REG. 462 with a copy of the CLETS printout for tow company records.
